If the 3” body lift has previously been installed, the bumper brackets will look different but the removal is the same. If installing this kit at the same time as the body lift, the Prerunner rear bumper brackets will be used in place of the brackets provided with the body lift.
Remove wire harness from clip and rear bumper bracket. Remove license plate light wire harness from wire harness connector on rear bumper. Remove trailer tow wire harness clip from bumper. Driver Side: Remove five bolts from bumper bracket, frame and bumper. Driver Side: Remove cover plate from top of rear bumper by squeezing four plastic tabs. Remove two torx bolts and loosen bolt holding brace to bumper. Remove bumper bracket from frame and bumper making sure to support this end. Passenger Side: Remove two bolts from bumper bracket and frame. Remove bumper and bumper bracket from vehicle.
