Service Tool for Canon iP1200, 1600, 2200 Resetter Printer
  • The printer driver must be installed on the computer on which the discharge is produced. 
  • Download the service program General Tool for Canon PIXMA iP1200 / iP1600 / iP2200 here
  • Disconnect the power cord. 
  • Hold down the power button ( «Power») to connect the power cord, double-click «Resume» (triangle in a circle) and release both buttons. The printer indicator blinked green and will go into service mode (green - lit and not blinking). 
  • Connect the USB cable (if the printer was previously connected to this computer, the service mode, the system will detect it as new hardware and installs as a "copy 1") 
  • Run General Tool. 
  • In the upper right corner of the screen to select the printer port - box «USB PORT».  Items 7 and 8 are not binding, they serve only to validate the connection, and can be skipped. 
  • In the window, on the left, click the button «DEVICE ID». To the right of the button to appear information about the connected printer (printer model, etc.). 
  • In the window to the right of information appears, click the button «EEP-ROM INFORMATION». A new window appears, which displays the information stored in the memory; check the value «D» - counter status (usually more than 100%) and close the window.  Items 7 and 8 are not binding, they serve only to validate the connection, and can be skipped. Now, the printer is properly determined, General Tool sees it and can work with it. 
  • Right at the top of the window General Tool is the panel «CLEAR WASTE INK COUNTER», under which there is «MAIN» buttons «PLATEN». Click on the button «MAIN» (you can at the same time «PLATEN»). 
  • Repeat step 8 (check the value «D» - counter status should be 0%). 
  • Turn off the printer, unplug the USB cable, close General Tool. Remove from folder "Printers and Faxes" printer "copy 1" steady in the service mode.
