EOS UTILITY INSTRUCTION MANUAL

This chapter contains information on precautions to be taken before using EOS Utility, on the use of this manual, on the system requirements and supported image types. It also explains the characteristics and configuration of the software. Precautions for using this product, safely and icons to help you with the procedures etc. are described at the beginning of this instruction manual. Please read this information carefully before moving on to the information in the other chapters. It is forbidden to reproduce, in whole or in part, the content of this manual without permission. EOS UTILITY INSTRUCTION MANUAL

For a camera with communication included as a menu function, you can communicate with EOS Utility for uploading images on your computer by selecting a parameter [Communication]. O the setting of this page is necessary for the EOS 5D, EOS 30D, EOS 20D, EOS 10D, EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT/350D DIGITAL and EOS DIGITAL REBEL/300D DIGITAL. For cameras other than those above, it is not necessary to make settings for the camera. Continue with the procedure in the section "Connection of the camera and the computer, then start the EOS utility". During the configuration of the communication, always make sure that the camera is not connected to the computer beforehand. Communication setting, while the camera is connected to the computer, causes malfunction of the camera and software. If you use the EOS 5D or EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT/350D DIGITAL, remote shooting function and the function of setting the camera in the EOS Utility cannot be used if [Communication] unit photo is set on [Print/PTP]. When the use of the EOS 30d, the camera, and the EOS utility cannot communicate if [Communication] unit photo is set to [LAN (WFT - E1)]. When using the EOS 20d, EOS 10d or EOS DIGITAL REBEL/300d DIGITAL, the camera, and EOS Utility cannot communicate if [Communication] unit photo is set to [PTP].
